It’s Sunday, where everyone seems to have their quality time in their beds. And here I am, with my American friend, lying down on the grass as our bed, looking the clouds moving in this lazy afternoon. Oh yeah, I almost forget to introduce myself. My name is Kuma, at least that’s what they call me. And the one who’s lying down right beside me? they call him Bobob and he never tell me his true name.

That day, we lied down as usual until: “Man, I wonder”, Bobob suddenly stood up and said ” if we could just lie down up here like, every day, it must be really fun right?”. When he said that, I know he’s going to start whining about his problem or stuffs, “What do you mean, Bob?”, “I mean, dude, imagine living in this world without having problem. It must be really cool right? huh?” He then start to talk about how cool this world without school, or how cool this world without homework or having yourself being scolded by your mom and some other stupid complaints about his life.

I stood up and said to him, “You know? I can give one solution about all of your problems”. “REALLY?” he shouted right in front of my face, “You can do that? get rid of all my problems?”, ” Well, yeah but I need you to give me something in return. How about giving me your Bon Jovi Collection? lol”, “I’ll give you anything you want man! as long as you can help me to get rid of all of this!” he replied so quickly. Then I started walking down the hill and ask him to follow me. On the way, he babbled and said that he would give me more gifts if he’s satisfied with the solution I gave him. We walked about 5 kilometers until finally we reached a gate. “Here we are, the place you’re dreaming for”, on the gate was written ‘St. Abbey’s Cemetery’. “…what do you mean? this is the place?! you gotta be kidding me” he asked in confusion. I looked at him and said, “Know this Bob, only the dead are free from any problems”. Bobob was speechless, he never imagined the answer would be like this. He took a deep breath and said, “You’re right, I think I have to stop whining about things” he thanked me and give me his Bon Jovi CDs collection he promised back there.

Lost Wallet

A wallet, or purse for some, is a precious item in which most people carry things more essential than money towards everyday life. If some people were to lose
that portable safe, they may be offset for the rest of that day. The person without that wallet could be cranky or depressed for a while. Maybe something of great sentimental value was in that wallet. This person could stay hold these feelings for a long time, until they find their belongings by which case they are filled with joy. I, personally, keep anything I may have interest in knowing where it is, in my wallet. I am very good about always having my wallet and never losing it…until recently.

In my wallet, I store dire personal items such as my driving license and some pictures. Among other things, I have my money, like everybody else, and certificates for stores. This summer, I went to the Keys with my family. I drove down there with my wallet and took it everywhere with me, like I would any other time. Well, when someone doesn’t have pockets, then it is hard to keep their wallet right next to them at all times. I was carrying my wallet out from the hotel, along with my keys, and set both on top of the car. When I figured out that I needed the keys in order to get in the car and turn it on, I took them off the top of the roof, leaving my wallet behind. I sat in the car, car door open, waiting for my dad to make it to the car so we could all go to a diving area. Once he made it to the car, without thinking, I closed the door and started the car. I had been driving about half a mile before I realized that my wallet was no longer on my body. Immediately, I pulled the car over, and the next hour or so was spent looking for my wallet. All I could think about was what I would lose if I didn’t find my wallet. The week before was my birthday, and I was given $60 to Best Buy and $50 to Auto Zone. Aside from that I had $3 in cash. While walking up and down the road that my wallet flew off on, my sister found my two Best Buy cards. That eased my mind a little. However, that was all we found of my dear wallet. My family and I gave up after wasting an hour of finding nothing. Losing my wallet made me depressed for the rest of the day. I could not believe I did something so stupid.

In the next day, I received a call from my grandmother. She was contacted by the sheriff’s department from Marathon County, where I was during this fiasco. When she answered the phone, the sheriff said “This is Deputy ‘so-and-so’ from the Marathon County sheriff’s department. Do you know Ellie Strickland?” This startled my grandmother. The sheriff then continued to explain to her that he had found my wallet, some two miles from the hotel in which I was staying. He left her information on how to contact him if she wished to retrieve my wallet. My grandmother called me and relayed that information. I got with the sheriff and recovered my wallet. That made my day, knowing that everything I had lost in my wallet was now returned to me, except for my three dollars in cash, which didn’t really matter to me at that time.

Since that single event, I have lost my wallet two other times, none as serious as before. I have also lost something sincere to me by putting it on top of the car. However, I was fortunate enough to get it back. The carelessness of my misplacing had taught me a lesson, simply think before I act. This is something everyone is taught numerous times. Only now, it is easier for me to apply that to my actions. If I follow that idea, I could avoid future problems like this, preemptive caution. It took a scare like this for it to finally kick in to me.

A TRUE LOVE

Once upon a time in a deep of jungle, live a little family called woody, because all their furniture made from wood. The woody family has 8 children, the name of the children are Pretty1, Pretty2, Pretty 3, Pretty4, Pretty5, Pretty6, Pretty7 and the last one is a young man called Handsome. All children grown up together just two child have a good face, they are Pretty7 is the most beautiful girl in this family, and Handsome is the most handsome man in this family.

One day, their mother asked to all her children, “my lovely children, I offer to you all, who can find the Rosella Flower in the deep of this jungle, I promise who gets that flower It will gets her or his true love. Unfortunately they are only two flower, so it would be just two person can have that flower, this match is going to start tomorrow morning, so I allow to you all for prepare for the match, good luck my darling”. So in that night, all children are preparing stuff, it will they use, on their way to find the flower.

Two days passed, none of them managed to find the Rosella Flower. But on the third day, all of them desperate to find a flower, the only remaining Pretty7 and Handsome who is still trying to find the Flower. On the fourth day, a very happy day for Pretty7, because she’s been able to gets the Rosella Flower, not long after Pretty7 gets the flower, Handsome also get these flowers in the same place with Pretty7 find The Flower.

So the end of this story, Pretty find her true love and her true love is Handsome. So they come back home, and tell their story about how did they get the true love to their family. In the end they live happily ever after.

When Oorbs! Get Down to The Teenagers

Teenagers always related to anything like style, fashion, and cannot escape from the things that are modernity. Many of the teenagers spend their free time hanging out with their friends. Here in Jakarta we got lot of places where you can see many of the teenagers meet their friends, hanging out or just take a walk to get refreshed from exhaustion life in the city. There are some places which urban teenager usually visit for hangout such as café, cinema, mall, shopping center, theme park, bookstore and many more. Here, we made a survey by asking people about where do they usually spend their spare time. We’ve asked 20 urban teenagers in class XI IPA 2 Labschool, and here’s their respond:

Expressing Music at LangitMusik 2011

Featuring around 21 local artists on 2 stages (Outdoor and Indoor), LangitMusik was continuing the success of”2010 New Day’ by holding a concert with a theme of ‘My Expression of Music’. This first anniversary concert of langit musik was held at Epicentrum Walk on Saturday 19th of March 2011.
In this concert LangitMusik provided some stands or store to be visited where they soldsome merchandise of the bands who perform there. Provided by Telkomsel, you could get some lucky prizes if you’re lucky enough.
Another facilities is a board where you can express your expressions and comments about this concert. I would say this concert was success by seeing many positive replies from all the invitation here. “Actually, i found it a little bit difficult to get the id pass,but it’s a good wayto make this concert not to be over-loaded!” said one of the attendance that night. With a total of 4000 invitations this concert had been able to rock the entire place!

Some great scene can be seen when Last Child with their attractive performance could makeall of the Last Friends (fans of Last Child) from all over the town dance and sing along together with them even in it was raining that night. You might find those people was crazy but they really know how to enjoy the show. Another cool act was done by Bottlesmoker with their shocking and uncommon entertaining style by operating a bubble machine and made a chilling atmosphere with their catchy electro music which can be enjoyed by all the crowd there. And there was still many more cool performances by our well-known local artists such as when some artists like Andre Harihandoyo or Tika and The Dissidents covered some songs from Lady Gaga or even Nirvana. Not only the crowd were being satisficated, but so did the performers. they were all really glad to play in this LangitMusik 1st Anniversary concert.”This event is totally rock!! You must hold an event like this again next year!” announced Adam, one of the attendance. Well done for LangitMusik! Keep up the good work!
